iHCPL Next Generation #79,# 80 & #81

The Future of Media#79: Television

1. I checked hulu.com and tv.com; both are fine, but I decided to watch my favorite show, "House Hunters International", on hulu.com. This half hour cable program has only about two minutes of commercials on hulu, so that was great. On hulu.com the choice of popular tv shows, movies, movie clips was alright, since I only watch few of half hour tv shows per week.

2. No, I never watched a tv show on my cellphone, because my phone is an older model. I am not interested because I do not want to pay money to watch TV on a phone.

3. Yes, I do enjoy watching YouTube online at home. I never submitted any video online.

The Future of Media #80: Movies

1. I watched Star Trek VII:Generations on hulu.com for a few minutes. I will not watch an entire film on computer, because staring at a 15" screen for almost two hours would be too hard on my eyes. I still prefer to watch DVDs on TV.

2. Yes, I found the current film information on Apple trailers to be very helpful. I would watch the clip and read the review first, before considering selecting a movie to watch.

3. Yes, I would very much like to use Redbox service. To pick up a DVD from Redbox, will take me less than 5 minutes of driving, from my home to around the corner to the drugstore. A DVD costs $1.00 rental fee and $0.08 tax for total of $1.08. I though this is a pretty economic way for a family movie night.

The future of Media #81: Get out Your Crystal Ball

1. Internet TV will be my pick for the most influence. I could see myself and the family watching internet YouTube on television in my living room. "on Demand" is a feature on TV to catch up on programs we miss, but I feel it still needs to improve its quantity of shows.

2. I am not an early adopter of gadget, usually I wait for a year or two before I purchase any new gadget. My favorite game was MYST, a computer game come with a Greek tragic family drama, excellent writing and narrator, classic graphic design. The game player is like a nerd on an Indiana Jones mission on a strange island.
